The jewellery auction of the 16th and 17th of May obtained excellent results and closed with a total turnover of € 2.725.000, 84% of lots sold and 137% increse on reserve prices.

Among the coloured stones the top lot was a ruby of ct. 2.90 ca, mounted on a ring with two halfmoon diamond shoulders, signed BULGARI (lot 973) and sold for € 375.000: “No such results are known for rubies of that size”, declares Luca Ghirondi, Director of the Department.

It was followed by an oval Kashmir sapphire of ct. 7.546 (Lot 971), sold for € 175.000, and an octagonal Colombian emerald of ct. 9.10 ca, g 7.82 (Lot 976), auctioned at € 137.500.

Praiseworthy results were also obtained by three wonderful necklaces: the first one in white gold and round diamonds (lot 962) with three cushioned sapphires for a total of ct. 14.60, sold for € 125.000, a necklace (lot 968) with diamonds for a total of ct. 134, auctioned at € 118.750, and a white gold and platinum necklace (lot 958) with baguette and round diamonds for a total of ct. 64 ca, sold for € 106.250.

Participation in the room, on the telephones and online was strongly felt, especially by an international audience, as always attentive to the proposals of Il Ponte.
