In this work Calvin presents a Latin translation of his "Petit Traicté e la Excuse a messieurs les Nicodemites" adding three Consilia by Filippo Melantone, Martino Bucero and Pietro Martire Vermigli, and a brief conclusion. 4to (208 x 140mm). Woodcut initials (light stains at margins of a few leaves, few small wormholes without loss). Modern boards backed in vellum, title in gilt on red morocco spine label, 18th-century endpaper preserved. The lot is accompanied by an export license.
