German incunabular edition of the works of Vergilius, printed in Nuremberg and edited by Anton Koberger, rich of manuscript annotations. Folio (280 x 190mm). Text surrounded by a commentary, initial decorated by hand in brick-red ink, blank k6 verso and O5 verso (lacking 1 and quire t, M3, M6, P5-7 and the last blank, repeated M4 and M5, some restoration at the margin as at d4 and K4, waterstaining, stains). Contemporary blindstamped pigskin on wooden boards, gilt calf label on spine, metal and pigskin clasps, white-blue edges (lightly cropped margins cutting some manuscript annotations, stain, rubbed, some light soiling). Provenance: on 2 recto ancient ownership note "Sebastianus à Giepiros (?) fu doctor et G. Abbas Lutensis A° 1578" (inferior margin) and "Conventum Lucensis" (superior margin).
