First edition, one of the early states: the error "questa storia" is here changed in "di questa storia" (p. 378, vol. III) but "gioia carnale" isn't yet changed in "gioia mondana" (p. 330, vol. III). 3 volumes, 8vo (188 x 120mm). Half-titles and errata (occasional light spotting, few light stains and very light waterstaining to a few leaves in vol. II, small tear repaired at p. 131 in vol. I). Fine green morocco bindings with arms and exlibris of Edoardo Cuciniello, gilt edges and decorative endpapers (just a touch of rubbing to extremities). In the volumes is preserved the issue of "Corriere delle Dame" from 8 September 1827 in which the publication of the first edition of Promessi Sposi is announced.
