SCHRAMBL, Franz Anton (1751-1803) - Allgemeiner grosser Atlass. Vienna: Joseph Philipp Schalbacher, 1800. An impressive atlas. Most of the maps (which are dated 1786-1800) are after d'Anville, Bonne, Bowles, Cassini, Djurberg, Faden, Kitchin, Lopez, Pownall, Rizzi-Zannoni, Schmid, Schinek, Wussin and others, several of which would form large wall- maps if joined, for example the twenty-four sheet map of Germany. Elephant folio (620 x 430mm). Double-page engraved frontispiece, 114 (of 131) engraved maps, mostly double-page and some handcoloured in outline (most extended at outer margin, title with an "s" added in pen, some browning and light wear, some tears, waterstaining and losses). Half calf on contemporary boards (some wear and loss at spine and extremities).
