PUCCINI, Giacomo (1858-1925) - Telegramma per la prima di Tosca [CON:] Raccolta di 12 cartoline illustrate da L. Metlicovitz e prodotte da G. Ricordi montate su cartoncino assieme a un autografo di Puccini. 10 Gennaio 1900. An interesting telegram sent to Annibale Ponchielli, son of Amilcare and music critic, four days before the premiere of Tosca in Rome at the Teatro Costanzi on 14 January 1914. Puccini writes "Let's hope Tosca goes as I wish". A fine testimony that precedes the affirmation of Tosca as one of the masterpieces of the Italian Opera. Together with a collection of illustrated postcards produced by Ricordi on the occasion of the Prima and an autograph of the Verdi dated 15 September 1912. (180 x 240mm).
