It describes the making of sheeps and galeons, of nautical charts and calendars, of naval combats and of the constructions of ports and arsenals.   2 parts in one volume, 4to (250 x 178mm). Engraved title within elaborate architectual border, numerous engraved and woodcut diagrams and illustrations, one full-page, woodcut double-page table between pp. 344 and 345 with uncut volvelles, 3 large engraved folding plates and a smaller plate between pp. 414 and 415, woodcut headpieces and initials (some worming to title's margins and colophon, more in the inner margin of numerous leaves, bigger between E3 and G4 and 2G1 and 2H4 were it touches some letters, lighter in margin of N1, small scuff mark to title with small loss, repaired tear at 2Q3-2Q4, some browning and spotting, lacking the Mediterranean map as usual). Later half vellum over mabled paper, manuscript title on spine (some light wear heavier to joints and spine). Due to the variant number of plates and volvelles it is sold not subject to return.
