Copy with excellent impression of this treatise which contains 27 portraits of Popes, from Urban VI, pope from 1378 to 1389, to Pius V, pope from 1566 to 1572. Interestingly, there are also portraits of the three antipopes Alexander V, John XXIII and Felix V. Folio (316 x 225mm). Architectural engraved title, 4 leaves with dedication to Alberico Cybo-Malaspina, 27 engraved plates with portraits of Popes and on the verso of each a short introduction text (some light marginal stains, minimal restoration at the margin of the engraving with Pope Julius III). Modern vellum with manuscript papal arms, title on spine and ties; preserved in a modern marbled paper case. Provenance: early ownership inscription on second leaf partially canceled.
