Rare illustrated edition of the famous Seneca Tragedies commented by Bernardinus Marmita and Daniel Caietanus. Folio (296 x 204mm). Woodcut title illustrated with the portrait of Seneca and his commentators, 9 woodcut illustrations at the beginning of each Tragedy except the sixth, woodcut initials, text in Roman and Greek characters, respectively for the text and the citations (occasional light browning). Modern vellum with manuscript title on spine, ties, blue edges uts; preserved in a modern decorated pape case. Provenance: sealing wax stamp on title.
