A fine copy of the second edition, printed 8 years after the first 1590 of this famous costume work. An iconic work celebrated for its graphic, artistic and historical interest and a fundamental testimony of the knowledge of the Renaissance period costume. 8vo (172 x 112mm). title within elaborate woodcut frame with printer's device repeated at the end, numerous woodcuts illustrating the style of the time, initials, headpieces and borders in woodcut, with final blank (light stain to 2L1 perhaps of rust ?, the upper margin sometimes slightly trimmed with a few millimeter's losses, lower corner of 3A7 restored causing a small loss). Fine morocco signed Marmin elegantly decorated in gilt and preserved in a modern marbled paper case.
