VIRGILIO, Publio Marone (70-19 A.C.) - Bucolica. Georgica. Milan: Giovanni Giacomo da Legnano, 1515. Precious illustrated and well-edited edition from the first quarter of the 16th century of this famous work by Virgil. Folio (290 x 204mm). Renown woodcut vignette on title with the author seated between the four commentators, appeared in several volumes starting with the Juvenal printed in 1501, printer's device at end, illustrations and woodcut initials (lower corner and outer margin of the title repaired with some losses, some soiling and staining). Modern vellum, manuscript title on spine and ties; preserved in a decorated paper case. In the absence of a collation available in SBN we report that of this copy: collation aa8-bb8, a8-i8, k6, K8, l8-08, p6, q8-z8, & 8, con8, rum8, A8-B8, C6. The pagination between k1 and K8 is LXXIII-LXVIII, LXXIII-LXXX with some leaves with repeated pagination, but different in content. Provenance: Petinnus Cardenus?
