Uncut copy of the first edition of this important compendium on Milanese monuments before the Siege of Milan in 1162. 4to (278 x 215mm). Title printed in red and black with engraved vignette depicting a view of Milan, 21 engraved plates, some of which folded, including a large plan of Roman Milan folded several times, two headpieces, one of which is dedicated to Ercole Visconti, dedicatee of the work, and two engraved initials (G1 and G4 reinforced at the lower margin and a few other leaves with minimal reinforcements to margins, occasional foxing and slight stains). Light blue editorial wrappers, later label on spine, uncut; preserved in a modern portfolio within a modern case in marbled paper.
