OVIDIO (43 a.C.-17? d.C. ) - Arte Amandi. Venice: [s.e., ma attribuito a Tacuino], 1516. Interesting sixteenth-century edition with fine woodcut illustrations of this successful work first published by Tacuino in May 1494. Given its success, the text was re-edited several times already by 1516 and in various editions also this same year. Folio (295 x 211mm). Gothic title, woodcuts and historiated initials at the beginning of each book, with the final blank (fore-edge of the second leaf with light wear, wormtrack repaired at the inner margin that touches some letters without causing damage, light dampstaining to some leaves and few other stains). Modern vellum, manuscript title on spine and ties, preserved in a decorated paper box. Provenance: some early annotations.
