CARLI, Gian Rinaldo (1720-1795) - Osservazioni preventive al piano intorno alle monete di Milano. Milan: Giuseppe Galeazzi, 1766. First edition of this rare work by Carli, a renown Italian economist and numismatic. In 1765 he was nominated president of the Supreme Economic "Consiglio" and in 1767 it was recognized that Carli persuaded Maria Teresa to change some of the economic theories after the dépréciation of the coins. It is with regards to these theories that Carli writes in this work (Treccani). 4to (281 x 218mm). Woodcut device on title (some occasional staining).
