[MILANO] - TORRE, Carlo (m. 1679) - Il ritratto di Milano. Milan: Federico Agnelli, 1674.   First edition of one of the first guides of Milan complete of all its plates and with some others added.   4to (225 x 175mm). Engraved additional title by Antonio Brusca, small woodcut device, 7 engraved folding plates by Agnelli, with an added "Pianta della Chiesa Metropolitana dell'Duomo di Milano" and complete of the plate "Disegno della facciata del Duomo di Milano" (a bit browned and stained) added later and often missing, woodcut initials and headpieces (some restoration to additional title, without first blank, occasional light spotting and staining, small repair to bottom corner of final leaf). Later half vellum with manuscript title on spine, covers in marbled paper, preserved in marbled paper case.   Inserted is a map of Milan "Ville des plus grandes, des plus riches, et des plus fortes d'Italie" printed in Paris in 1700 and illustrating Milan during the end of the Spanish domination and close to the time of writing of this work. Provenance: Caroli Faurii (ownership inscription dated 1865).
