BOEZIO, Severino (465-524) - De consolatione Philosophie necnon de disciplina scholarium. Lyon: Jean Du Pré, 1489. A rare incunabula edition of the "De consolatione", whose editio princeps dates back to 1471, and of the "de disciplina scholarium", a medieval text, probably written in the 12th century and wrongly attributed to Boethius. This copy is enriched with contemporary marginal annotations and "maniculae", unfortunately often trimmed. 2 parts in one volume, 4to (225 x 160mm). Half-title, spaces for guide-letters (upper margin of the first leaves with ancient reinforcement that sometimes cover the reference to the title of the book, trimmed at the upper and external margin with sometimes loss of the reference title and part of the manuscripts notes in the margin, light browning). 16th-century vellum with gilt title on spine (small chips, small wormholes in the lower edge of the spine, bowed). Provenance: several contemporary and maniculae annotations; Petri et Michaelis Delvecchio (bookplate) - illeggible ancient noble stamp on half-title.
