Milan: Giuseppe Galleazzi, 1759.   A good copy of this work written by the Genoese Jesuit Marchelli and describing in detail how to build the renown instrument invented by Galileo. The copy belonged to Lazzaro Bertolotto, a nautical expert.   8vo (176 x 120mm). Title in red and black with engraved vignette, large engraved folding plate, initials and woodcut headpieces (some foxing, without initial blank). Contemporary vellum, gilt spine, blue edges (light stains). Provenance: Lazzaro Bertolotto (stamp; Nautical professor and sundials expert, director of the nautical school of Camogli).
