Paris: Matthieu Guillemot, 1600 [ma dopo 1610].   First edition and first issue of the French version by F. Beroalde Verville (1556-1626) of the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili. The work highlights the alchemical aspects of the celebrated Hypnerotomachia and the woodcuts are reused from Kerver's edition of 1546 and show some wear.   4to (265 x 205mm). Fine title within an elaborate woodcut border, woodcut initials and headpieces, numerous illustrations in text, many full-page, with final blank at the end of the preface (browned and with some foxing).
