Catania: Stamparia di li Regj Studj, 1814.   First edition of the poems by Domenico Tempio from Catania, famous for his harsh satire and erotic poems and considered one of the main Sicilian dialectal poets. It is probably a copy of Ignazio Scimonelli (1754-1831), a lawyer and an amateur poet himself, member of the "Accademia Siciliana".   3 parts in one volume, 8vo (200 x 143mm). Portrait of the author as frontispiece (light and occasional spotting). Contemporary binding backed in leather with gilt title and decorations, red edges (boards later covered with cloth, minimal wear). Provenance: Ignazio Scimonelli (?) (ownership inscription); Comm. A. Padula (armorial bookplate).
