Bernardino Antelminelli, mentioned in the introduction, encouraged the publication of the work to claim direct descent from the famous leader.   4to (209 x 147mm). Engraved large vignette with a portrait of Castruccio on title, initials and woodcut headpieces, a woodcut diagram at the end (some light spotting and staining, wormtrack to the inner margin of the first pages and final two leaves, two small holes on title touching a few letters). 19th-century marbled boards backed in red leather decorated in gilt, speckled edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: early date in ink on title and few marginal annotations.
