PISTRUCCI, Filippo (1782-1859) - Iconologia. Milan: Tosi, 1819-21. Uncut copy in excellent internal conditions of this elegant finely watercoloured repertoire of iconology. The author was one of the leading neoclassical artist representing the 'pure outline' chalcographic style in Italy and later he became a successful impromptu poet and a Mazzinian of strict observance, engaged in the management of cultural circles for italian emigrants in London. 2 volumes, folio (330 x 230mm). Half-title and title in first volume, 240 finely watercoloured plates, uncut and in excellent condition. Contemporary boards with gilt title on spine (light wear and small chips, spine of the second volume detached but present). (2)
