PLOTINUS (204-270) - Operum philosophicorum omnium libri LIV. Tradotto da Marsilio Ficino. Basel: Petrus Perna, 1580.   First edition in the original greek of the writings of the founder of Neoplatonism. Ficino's Latin translation was first published in 1492 in Florence, the home of renaissance Neoplatonism. Books 2 and 3 deal with physics and cosmology, and chapter 13 of book 2 contains a tract on astrology.   Folio (342 x 218mm). Printer's device on title and at the end, woodcut initials, portrait on the verso of α6, text in Greek and Latin (lacking the index of 45 leaves at end, some dampstaining and small wormtracks at the upper margin of the first leaves, some wormtracks that occasionally touch the text, some brownings and foxing in the first part). Slightly later light colour calf, panelled spine, paper label (worn). Provenance: armorial bookplate on title and early ownership inscription.
