"Gentleman in a blue jacket (recto), Pair of doves with amorous motto (verso)" 1785-1790, miniature on ivory (d. cm 5,1)   Bibliography: C. Parisio, G.B.Gigola 1767-1841, 2001, pp. 59 (colour), 94-95   The portrait is placed in a gold medallion, to be worn on the chest. A second ivory plate opposite to the first bears two doves with the inscription: "Mira del nostro /amor /questa è l'imago", confirming the amorous purpose of the double miniature.   This lot may be subject to Import/Export restrictions due to CITES regulations in some extra UE countries
