Venice: Antonio Zatta, 1757.   A fine copy of the Divine Comedy with Gozzi's "Giudizio" in an elegant contemporary binding and with a strong and clear impression of the plates.   6 volumes, 4to (275 x 200mm). The first 3 volumes of the Comedy are composed as follows: half-title in the first volume with the instructions to the binder on the verso, engraved frontrispiece, titles with engraved vignette and printed in red and black in the first volume, engraved dedicaton and portrait of Elizabeth Petrowna, portrait of Dante, engraved plate with coins (a description of a copy previously sold mentions two coin-plates), another plate with the poet's monument, engraved map of the Inferno at end of volume one, headpieces and 100 engraved plates at the beginning of each canto by Magnini , Rizzi, Crivellari after Fontebasso, Zompini, Schiavonio and Marcaggi (a few sporadic light spots). The fourth volume in uniform binding is Gozzi's work which contains: engraved frontispiece, title in red and black with engraved vignette (without a portrait of the author mentioned in SBN). 4 volumes uniformly bound in elegant contemporary tree calf with elaborate gilt borders on covers, spines decorated in gilt with titles on dark morocco labels, speckled edges (extremities very lightly rubbed).   In the lot there are also 2 volumes of the "Prose, e Rime Liriche Edite, ed Inedite". Venice: Zatta, 1757-1758. Engraved frontispiece, engraved vignette on titles, 6 engraved plates and a folding table with the genealogical tree of Dante's family, errata at end of volume two (occasional minimal spotting). Contemporary half calf over decorated paper plates, spines decorated in gilt, red speckled edges. This is the work that usually follows the 3 volume of Zatta's Commedia. (6)
