FERRARI, Ottavio (1602-1682) - De re vestiaria libri septem.. De re vestiaria pars altera. Padua: Paolo Frambotti, 1654.   First complete edition of this work on the study of ancient Rome clothing. The first part was first published in 1642 while the 'Pars Altera' was printed for this edition.   2 parts in one volume, 4to (207 x 154mm). Engraved frontispiece, woodcut vignettes on the two titles, 34 mainly full-page engraved illustrations signed Jo. Georg. sculps. and Ruffonus f., the illustrations generally included in the collation apart from n. XXII which is a plate (foxing and browning). 18th-century marbled paper backed in vellum, manuscript title on spine (rubbed and with some wear).
