[NAPOLEONICA-LEGATURA-BODONI] - Descrizione del dipinto a buon fresco eseguito nella Reale Villa di Milano dal Sig. Cavaliere Andrea Appiani Primo Pittore di S.M. I. e R. Parma: Bodoni, 1811 [ma 1812].   A splendid copy bound with the Napoleonic arms of this Bodonian work, dedicated to the fresco of Parnassus by Andrea Appiani (1754-1817) in the Villa Reale in Milan, of which De Lama wrote "an honorable monument for the heart of the Typographer". The provenance is even more important considering that the Parnassus was the final work by the painter, struck by a stroke the following year, and commissioned directly by the viceroy Eugene of Behaurnais to whom the coat of arms in the binding is referable; the arms in fact are those of Napoleon, King of Italy but have the characteristic of showing the inverted "N", often referred to Eugenio. Although not signed, the binding is in the style or simply influenced by the workshop of the royal bookbinder Luigi Lodigiani (1777-1843).   Folio (440 x 290mm). Wide margins (slight and discreet restoration to a little tear at the bottom right corner of the final two pages not touching text). Contemporary red morocco with the arms of Napoleon I King of Italy in the variant with reversed "N" in elegant phytomorph frame, gilt inlays, marbled endpapers.
