[BIBBIA] - Textus Biblie hoc in opere hec insunt. Lyon: Johanem Crespin, 1529.   A fine illustrated French Bible, the second edition, identical to the first, of the famous Crespin Bible of 1527.   Folio (358 x 245mm). Architectural title printed in red and black within a large woodcut border depicting the Last Supper at the bottom and with images of the Saints on the sides, text on two columns in Gothic style, numerous woodcut vignettes, large woodcut illustration of the Creation in six parts at the beginning of the Genesis, large woodcut depicting King Solomon at the beginning of Proverbs, full-page nativity at the beginning of the New Testament, the canon of Eusebius printed in red and black, with final blank (some staining, mainly from damp, some soiling and browning, extremities of a few leaves a little frayed, v1-B3 with an initial wormtrack followed by a tine wormhole). 18th-century? calf with blindstamp decorations on covers, gilt spine and title on red label (some rubbing). Provenance: Barberi di Fronzano (ownership inscription at the end) - Scati Library of Casaleggio (bookplate).
