Half-title, engraved frontispiece by Nicolas Poussin and engraved by Claude Mellan, headpieces and engraved initials (lightly browned, occasional foxing, little repaired wormtrack in the upper margin of Y4-Z1, without final blank). Splendid contemporary red morocco elaborately decorated in gold on covers and spine, title on dark label on spine, marbled endpapers, gilt dentelles and edges (front joint weak and lightly retouched, minor rubbing).
