Among the most notable pieces is an extraordinary creation by Girard-Perregaux, reference 9960 in white gold (Lot 1098, €30,000–60,000): the only example to have appeared on the market in this configuration. Belonging to an extremely limited series produced in 1998 at the La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacture, with approximately 20 pieces made in various precious metal variations, it represents one of the highest expressions achieved by the maison. The timepiece combines a perpetual calendar and a minute repeater (two of the most complex horological complications), housed in a tonneau-shaped case with balanced proportions. The dial, constructed with geometric precision and enriched with astronomical indications, interacts with a finely finished movement, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
