Jewels conclude a sparkling auction week

The Important Jewels sale (27–28 November) brought a brilliant close to an exciting week of auctions, achieving over €3.5 million in sales, with 88% of lots sold and an average increase of 182% on the initial estimates.

 

An event that continues to gain attention and appreciation from international collectors and buyers, it succeeded in generating strong interest throughout all three sessions.

 

Taking centre stage was a selection of high jewellery by renowned maisons, confirming the timeless appeal of their most iconic creations. Among the standout results was a refined flowerpot brooch featuring a large cabochon sapphire of approximately 20 ct. (lot 605, €126,000), a further testament to the creative excellence and classic elegance that define the Bulgari name.

Also distinguished was MarinaB, the contemporary heir of the Roman maison, whose sensual rigid “Onde” choker from 1987 confirmed the growing attention towards her distinctive style (lot 613, €88,200).

Cartier Paris also captured attention with a platinum wide bracelet, embellished with cabochon and baguette sapphires totalling 59 ct., accompanied by old-cut diamonds (lot 593, €60,480).

Other exquisite examples of high jewellery sparked intense bidding, enhanced by gemstones of exceptional colour intensity: the platinum and white gold demi-parure set with over 11 ct. of diamonds and approximately 60 ct. of sapphires (lot 573, €81,900), the platinum ring with an oval ruby of approximately 4.50 ct. (lot 617, €81,900), and the ring featuring an octagonal sapphire of 8.65 ct. (lot 580, €75,600).

In the realm of antique jewellery, the audience was enchanted by the pendant depicting Cupid, holding a torch and a crown among palm branches and doves, with his quiver resting on his back: a marvellous demonstration of goldsmithing mastery, finely crafted in gold, silver and diamonds (lot 500, €16,380).
