The work has numerous fine engraved plaes and among the finest are the views of the ruins of Persepolis, until then rarely depicted. 5 volumes, 4to (255 x 198mm). Title in red and black, engraved portrait of the author and 90 plates of views, costumes and maps of which some folding (lacking text leaves in vol. I 4m3, 4m4, 4n1 and 4n4 which have been substitute with blank leaves, 4m1 and 4n2 with some restorations in the margins with some loss, some light occasional spotting). Contemporary calf, gilt titles on spine, red edges, green silk bookmarks (some rubbing and chipping). (5)
