A collection of full-page engraved portraits of the popes from St. Peter to Clement VIII, drawn and engraved by the author, each with its relative weapons and preceded by a biographical description. Included is a dedicatory letter to Massimiliano Bruno, a secular canon of the Congregation of San Giorgio in Alga in Venice, and the discovery of America is mentioned in the biography of Innocent VIII . 8vo (167 x 116mm). Engraved title within architectural border, second title and numerous full-page portraits (title reinforced, portrait of Christ lacking in the preliminaries and possibly also a text leaf, without the leaf X1 with the shield, helmet and crest of G.B. Cavalieri, some dampstaining at the lower edge). 18th-century calf with gilt GM monogram, gilt spine and speckled edges, fine decorative flyleaves (but modern endpapers); decorated paper modern box.
