First edition of this famous early costume book with good margins and strong imprint. The woodcuts were designed by Cesare Vecillio, a relative of Titian. The first part depicts costumes mostly from Europe, including Russia, Sweden, Greece and Turkey, the second part illustrates costumes from Asia and Africa. 8vo (180 x 115mm). Title within woodcut border, numeours full-page woodcut illustrations by Christoph Krieger after Cesare Vecellio including 5 views of Venice (without final blank, occasional light spotting). 19th-century brown morocco (rebacked).
