Thanks to an high-quality proposal of the catalogue, the four days dedicated to the Furniture and Old Paintings sales (11, 12, 13, 14 October 2022) achieved excellent results:


a turnover of over € 1.9 million, 80% of lots sold and 198% revaluation of starting prices. To win the leadership of the ranking's sales is Jacques Sablet with the Portrait of Giuseppe Cristiano, Count of Salmour (lot 426, sold € 237,500), followed by Giuseppe Maggiolini with the richly inlaid walnut and fir secretaire (lot 423, sold € 68,750), equally with the Russian icon attributed to the silversmith Pavel Ovchinnikov (lot 410, sold € 68,750).

To achieve remarkable results has been also the 17th century nucleus of Genoese paintings, with the two oils on canvas by the Genoese master of the late 17th century (lot 422, sold € 43,750 - lot 421, sold € 27,500) and Simone Barabino with the Martyrdom of San Lorenzo (lot 419, sold € 27,500). Always among the best sales, there are two Venetian School architectural Capricci (lot 747, sold € 37,500), Domenico Pecchio with the pair of River Landscapes (lot 403, sold € 30,000), the rare automaton by Johann Ott Halleicher (lot 420, sold € 15,000), and the high Venetian relief made between the 16th-17th century (lot 374, sold € 11,875).

Additionally, worthy of mention are the musical instruments with the violin by Carlo Ravizza (lot 775, sold € 22,500), as well as in the last session the animal and naturalistic world's collection, which sees among the noteworthy awards a pair of armchairs with a structure formed by horns of elk and deer (lot 918, sold € 8,750) and the Gary Stinton's Siberian Tiger (lot 931, sold € 6,250).

Focus on a private modenese collection (11 October 2022):

It's the Emilian furniture in all its shape that makes the Modenese private collection shining, with the first two rounds of the week entirely dedicated to Antique Furniture and Paintings at Palazzo Crivelli.

The significant result achieved by furniture seems to regain share and prices on the market. A lively competition has also demonstrated the renewed interest of the national and international public. To stand out are the slab and threaded flap in various woods from the 18th century (lot 276, sold € 37,500), the pair of cabinets veneered in walnut and various kinds of wood (lot 259, sold € 12,500), and the large circular table from the 16th century (lot 221, sold € 12,500). In such a variety of an exhibition composed by over 270 lots, the pair of large Japanese Satsuma porcelain vases from the Meiji period (lot 270, sold € 12,500) and the Figure seated in prayer carved in alabaster from the 19th century (lot 210, sold € 6,250) stand out.
